Laser treatments
City Clinic has a wide selection of different laser treatments. Please contact us for further information and we will find you the most suitable and the best solution.
Fractional Laser – Skin Rejuvenation
Fractional laser treatment is a non-invasive treatment that uses a device to deliver a laser beam divided into thousands of microscopic treatment zones that target a fraction of the skin at a time. This is analogous to a photographic image being enhanced or altered pixel by pixel.
Fractional laser treatment has bridged the gap between the ablative and non-ablative laser techniques used to treat sun-damaged and aging skin. Whilst ablative laser treatments work mainly on the epidermis (surface skin cells) and non-ablative treatments work solely on dermal collagen (mid-layer of skin) only, fractional laser treatment works at both the epidermal and dermal layers of the skin.
Fractional laser treatment is used for the treatment of:
- Facial lines and wrinkles
- Sun damage
- Acne
- Skin pigmentation associated with photoaging Surgical and acne scarring
Using fractional light to rejuvenate the skin can produce an effect that is perfectly graded to your expectations, and offers a degree of control and efficacy that allows for highly precise sculpting of the skin. Treatments can extend from light touch-ups to deep collagen remodeling, ideal for patients who want drastic rejuvenation effects, but are not inclined towards aggressive surgical or chemical alternatives. This treatment is suitable for all skin types and tones, with minimal patient downtime.
3D Skin tightening
City Clinic is proud to present a unique method of skin tightening and rejuvenation utilizing The Fotona 3D Skin Tightening and Rejuvenation Method. This procedure employs two lasers in unique modes and settings to accomplish results similar to fillers and other tightening devices but without the down time and discomfort.
The combination of an Er:YAG 2940 nm and Nd:YAG 1064 nm lasers utilizes a unique technology to achieve collagen stimulation and remodelling. This new collagen synthesis has been shown to help with wrinkles, skin tightening, texture, pore size, scarring, flaccid skin and hyper pigmentation.
This three-step procedure causes no pain, only slight warmth with the laser stimulation. There are no down time or known adverse effects. We suggest 2-4 treatments, every 4 weeks apart depending on your age and concerns. The results are long lasting. This procedure is safe for all skin type.
Step One
The Er: YAG laser in a SMOOTH (non-ablative) mode is utilized intra-orally to stimulate the collagen in the oral mucosal. This procedure can be used in the buccal and peri-oral mucosa to lift and fill the nasolabial folds (smile lines) and prejowl sulcus (frown lines). The laser is used intra-orally in the lip mucosa to improve lip lines and fullness.
Step Two
The Nd: YAG laser light (FRAC mode), aimed from the surface of the skin, and penetrates deep into the dermis to cause collagen remodelling and stimulation of new collagen.
Step Three
The Nd:YAG in a PIANO mode, causes dermal collagen remodelling under an undamaged outer skin surface layer. This causes the skin to tighten and smooth thus diminishing the surface wrinkles.
4D Skin Tightening
Enabled by the expanded capabilities of the Nd:YAG and Er:YAG wavelengths, the Dynamis Pro provides up to four dimensions of treatment. Fotona’s complementary Er:YAG and Nd:YAG wavelengths are synergistically applied in 4 different modes: SMOOTH®, FRAC3®, PIANO® and SupErficial™ to work on deeper, medial and superficial connective structures of the skin, while simutaneously targeting different skin imperfections. Multiple treatment modalities range from the 2-dimensional TwinLight® procedure to the 4-dimensional Fotona4D™ procedure.
Fotona’s 4D laser treatment enables full-thickness contraction of collagen for persistent, low-downtime tightening and volumization (wrinkle reduction) without injectables. Combining these 4 unique modes and two complementary wavelengths results in a respectable “SmoothLiftin” treatment.
Laser Treatment of Freckles, Age Spots & Pigmented Lesions
Pigmented lesions are remarkably common and the overwhelming majority are benign. It is widely recognized in the medical community that Q-Switched lasers are the ideal tools for effectively removing benign pigmented lesions.
Age spots, freckles and melasma are forms of excessive skin pigmentation. These unwelcome patches are the results of excessive sun exposure, hormonal changes or genetic susceptibility. Certain forms of skin pigmentation such as sun spots don’t exclusively occur on the face, but also on the hands, back, legs, arms and décolletage.
As most skin pigmentation problem does not respond well to topical creams alone, we offer the solution of utilizing advanced laser technology combined with aimed at repairing sun damaged and pigmented skin to restore an unblemished complexion.
Laser treatment
The Fotona QX MAX is a high-energy anti-pigment laser which delivers outstanding results in the correction of all sort of pigmentation disorders, even with single sessions. The Fotona QX MAX laser effectively breaks down excessive skin pigments without damaging surrounding tissues because the laser energy is selectively absorbed by melanin pigments only. Unlike topical creams, laser energy can target deep within the dermis, so dermal (deeper) pigmentation can be effectively treated as well.
Fotona laser treatment has the added benefit of skin tightening and overall rejuvenation. The laser energy may also stimulate collagen production and reduce pore size. In addition, the treatment can reduce fine facial hairs.
Getting ready
Avoid excessive sunlight exposure for at least 2 weeks before and after treatment, and during any treatment courses. Do apply sunscreen of at least SPF 25 daily.
How many treatments?
Depending on the type of pigmentation, generally two to eight treatments are recommended to observe significant pigmentation reduction. Each treatment takes about 30 minutes, with minimal recovery time needed.
Acne – Laser treatment -Twinlight – the number one in Finland
Acne is a persistent, embarrassing and treatment resistant condition which is characterised by the pain and inflammation of the acute infection, and the scarring/skin damage of chronic deep infection. Fotona offers a laser with a modality which directly targets the bacteria in skin glands to reduce active acne, and effects activity of sebaceous glands to reduce recurrent acne. Fotona also offers treatment of acne scarring by stimulating collagen in the skin and improving texture and tone in the skin surface through laser resurfacing.
Twinlight laser treatment
Our Fotona SP Dynamis can peform Fotona’s revolutionary Twinlight Fractional Rejuvenation method. The laser precisely targets imperfections in the skin, leaving the surrounding healthy skin untouched.
Step 1: CONDITIONING
An Nd:YAG beam is passed along the surface twice.. The first pass provides a short stimulus to the skin, the second pass penetrates the tissue causing deep FRAC3 heating and conditioning the skin for an effective fractional treatment therapy.
Step 2: FRACTIONAL THERAPY
Old worn out skin is ablated away by a fractional Er:YAG laser. The precise micro-ablated channels will be replaced with new, tighter and healthy tissue as new skin forms.
Step 3: PEELING
The skin is ablated with a full Er:YAG beam, which finishes the treatment and removes the superficial imperfections. The treatment is suitable for all skin types and tones, with minimal patient downtime.
Microsclerotherapy for Thread Veins with Laser
Enlarged small veins (telangiectasia) are small visible starry shaped or radial varicose veins. Loss of flexibility inside the veins leads to venous enlargement due to the arterial pressure. Small and superficial vein formations may be very painful and have a clear cosmetic harm.
Typical areas:
• upper outer thigh region
• lower inner thigh region
• ham region
• tarsus region
• face
The following factors affect to the problem:
• hereditary tendency
• aging
• burn marks
• overweight
• ultraviolet and x-ray-radiation
Hormonal reasons may incur varicose veins during pregnancy or when using oral contraceptives.
Treatment plans to destroy these small veins. Injection treatments are proven to be effective when treating these small (telangiectasia) veins.
Injection treatment uses a safe substance called Aethoxysklerol which is proven safe. You need usually three treatments or sometimes even six to eight treatments. After the injection, you must use pressure sock in your limb for 3 days/nights. Patient can move freely and it is recommended that the patient will move as much as possible after the treatment.
Results
Varicose veins start to disappear within two to three months. You cannot always expect a full recovery with the injection treatment, but in any case, a satisfactory result is around 70 percent.
Complications
A rare complication after the treatment can be so-called telangiectatic matting, which means that new varicose veins will appear in the treated area. This normally disappears itself within a year.
Contraindications for the treatment
Serious common diseases:
1. Asthma
2. Hyperthyroidism
3. Imbalanced diabetes
4. Aneurysm in the limb
• Varicose vein disease (Please note that before the treatment this disease has to be treated)
• Severe thrombosis is an absolute contraindication to the treatment
• The treatment is not recommended during pregnancy or lactation.
• Aspirin should be avoided during the treatment.
