Polyps and warts

The vagina has a lining that can form cysts and polyps. Although these occur often, they are not harmful. Often they do not need any treatment unless they get larger. Rarely, painful cysts, from a disease called endometriosis, can form. These may need treatment with medicine, laser, or surgical procedures.

Warts are growths on the skin of the genital area and around the anus. They are caused by certain types of the human papilloma virus (HPV). Genital warts are very common. Common genital warts symptoms are flesh-colored, soft-to-the-touch bumps on the skin that may look like the surface of a cauliflower. They often grow in more than one place and may cluster in large masses. Genital warts usually are painless, but they may itch. Genital warts may be removed with surgery or with lasers.
