Fat Grafting
Fat grafting is a procedure in which fat is harvested by liposuction from a part of the body where it is unwanted and then transferred or grafted by injecting it into an area where it can be used to add volume, fill a dimple or groove, or correct a contour deformity.
Advantages to fat grafting include using your own fatty tissues rather than a foreign body injectable and the added benefit of having liposuction remove fat from an area where you don’t want it. Also, your fat will last longer than injectable fillers, which will only last months to years before reinjection is required to maintain their benefits.
Face
As we get older our fat content in the face – particularly the mid-face and chin area – loses some volume, helping to draw the skin downwards. This can make our cheeks look rather sunken and the whole face a little empty. A similar appearance is evident if one loses a significant amount of weight. To regain the appearance of youth again one can volumise the mid-face by transplanting fat taken from different part of the body (typically the abdomen and thighs but we can utilise many other excess areas of body fat). This can give you a healthier glow and restore and rejuvenate what added years have been taking away. You will notice the results immediately – your face will look fuller, healthier, more youthful and healthier.
Downtime
Although specialised techniques keep it to a minimum, occasionally some bruises develop in the face. Depending on these, you could return to work or social activities within a few days. There is also the option of using Arnica cream. The harvest sites generally settle within a week or two. Compared to surgical facelifts, the downtime is significantly minimal.
Depending on the area in which you opt to have Liposuction, you may be advised to undergo a course of Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage, which your team will explain in relation to your individual case.
Breast
Fat transfer to the Breasts is a minimally-invasive treatment offering subtle enhancement to the breasts. It is a popular choice for women who are looking to add shape and volume to their chest, whilst removing stubborn pockets of fat elsewhere on the body.
Depending on the area in which you opt to have Liposuction, you may be advised to undergo a course of Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage, which your team will explain in relation to your individual case.
Buttocks
Fat Grafting gives a natural, subtle curve to the behind through a specialist combination of minimally-invasive liposuction and the transfer of fat cells. Bottoms are given a soft enhancement in appearance and volume. The results are subtle, with a natural-looking curve and a more pronounced shape. Providing you are suitable for the procedure, which will be discussed during your consultation, our doctors will sculpt the overall shape surrouding your buttock area.
Downtime
Due to the minimally-invasive nature of the treatment, downtime is minimal and you will normally be allowed to return home the same day of the procedure. However, because there may be some bruising and swelling, it is best to wait one to two weeks before you hit the gym or do any rigorous physical activity.
Depending on the nature of your profession and individual case, we normally advise taking a couple of days off work to achieve the very best results, and you may be advised to undergo a course of Manual Lymphatic Drainage massages to aid recovery.
